Bovino Extra is a feed additive in bolus form, designed to replenish calcium levels in cows after calving and during periods of high productivity. It aims to prevent hypocalcemia and related complications, stimulate energy metabolism, prevent metabolic liver disorders, and strengthen the immune status of animals.
Form of release: 10 boluses weighing 85 g each.
Packaging: Individually sealed packets, then packed in a foam container and cardboard box.
Storage conditions: Store in the original packaging at temperatures from –10°C to +30°C. Shelf life — 24 months.
Composition:
Easily absorbed organic calcium salts, vitamin D3, minerals (Co, I) — cofactors, regulators of parathyroid gland activity, antioxidant and niacin (first-line antioxidant defense), phenylpropanoid derived from cinnamon oil with strong fungicidal properties.
Indications for use:
- To increase calcium levels in blood after calving;
- To prevent ketosis;
- To normalize mineral and energy metabolism;
- To strengthen immune status.
Mechanism of action:
The main action of Bovino Extra is to restore calcium deficiency in cows after calving through two organic highly available forms of calcium. It also stimulates parathyroid hormone (PTH) secretion via vitamin D3 and iodine contained in the product. PTH in turn triggers calcium resorption from bone, bringing calcium metabolism back to physiological levels. As a result, this mechanism provides effective prevention of hypocalcemia in cows after calving and at peak lactation.
Dosage:
Bovino Extra boluses are administered once using an applicator:
- In the first hours after calving;
- 2 boluses per animal.
If necessary, repeat administration of two boluses 12 hours after calving, according to indications.
